Turkish Bath & The Track 2:

Today's shave was great. Today I went with Jeeves of Hudson Street and their fabulous Turkish Bath (now called Barbershop) scented soap. The scent is a 1920's style barbershop shop scent with a heavy top note of premium tobacco which is awesome. And to finish off this shave, I went with Stirling Soap's Barbershop scented aftershave splash which adds a touch of sweetness to it:

The 1971 Gillette Track 2 was amazing. I got nice, clean & slick post shave feel in just 2.5 passes which is perfect for me. I also got no burning or stinging from the aftershave products I used in today's shave which is a great thing.

Confidence, Coffee & The Shield:

Today's shave was epic. After a nice, hot & relaxing shower I went with Soap Commander which is my all time favorite artisan & their "Confidence" scented soap. This scent is Carrie's least favorite scent for some reason but she knows that people love this scent which is overly sweet honey, musk & patchouli. The musk & patchouli calm the sweetness of the honey down but still allows it to come through towards the end of the scent. And I finished off this shave with the matching aftershave balm which adds a tiny bit of menthol to the already great post shave feeling:

Now for those wondering, yes I did get some pumpkin spice coffee creamer which was very delicious this morning. So far my personal favorite is the Hershey's Chocolate & Caramel and I also love the Peppermint Mocha flavored creamer:

The Gillette Shield was exceptional. I got that old familiar "ice rink" post shave feel in just 3 passes which is about normal for a cartridge that has a lot of shaves on it. I'll have to go back and count them to see how many I have on this specific one. And yesterday I ordered the items needed for my retro pie gaming system which is going to be sweet. All I need now is a micro SD card and an HDMI cable and I'm ready to go. I might have one that's not in use that I use to connect my DVD recorder to the TV before I got my satellite TV installed.

High Jump 47 & The Sensor:

Today's shave was pretty good. I was craving something unique so I grabbed Phoenix Artisan Accoutrement's and their High Jump 47 scent which is incredible. The scent to my nose is a fresh citrus cologne scent with some talcum powder. And to finish off this shave, I paired it with good old Pinaud's Clubman aftershave splash:

Stropping did make a huge difference on this razor. I got a pretty close and clean shave after performing just 2 passes which is where I stopped. On the very last couple of strokes during the 2nd pass, the razor became uncomfortable and started tugging and pulling pretty bad so I tossed it. I believe that I'm done buying razors and will be sticking to just my Gillette Shield, Gillette Mach 3, Gillette Mach 3 Turbo & my 1971 Gillette Track 2 razor. The jury is still out on the Schick Quattro and it's not looking good on it. I did think about getting a Muhle R41 and just stick with it from now on but if it's not broke, don't fix it. There's no need to suffer when you don't have to.

Gillette Sensor 2 Disposables:

Unless you have been living in a cave or on a desert island some where, you would know that these are every where and don't cost a lot. My shave with one of these was far better than I expected it to be in a lot of ways. Now it's no where near close to my Gillette Shield is in terms of shave quality which is my top razor at the moment but it's far better than the Gillette Guard is and ever will be. These cost me less than $4 U.S. dollars at a local super market. In terms of shave quality, I was somewhat impressed. I did have to do 3 passes to get a close shave but unlike the Guard that I tried the other day, I got a very nice and close shave. There was some slight tugging & pulling but it was minimal. So I do recommend stropping these either on a traditional leather strop, a pair of old blue jeans or a hand towel before use:

I will shave with it again to determine whether or not stropping it helped or not. Over all I would rate these disposable razors just a little below the Gillette Mach 3 & Mach 3 Turbo blades. So if you are in a pinch and need something to shave with, these are more than okay but please be sure to strop them before use.

Proraso Green & The Sensor 2:

Today's shave was extremely good. It's also Friday which means Proraso Friday is in full effect. I went with the modern day classic Proraso Green which has a Menthol & Eucalyptus scent to it. And to finish off this shave, I went with good old Osage Rub which was the icing on the cake:

The Gillette Senor 2 disposable was much better than I expected it to be. It's not the best in the world but it's far from being the worst. So if you are in a pinch and need to shave, these will be fine. I will be doing another blog post on these with more details.

Gillette Sensor 2 & More Clubman:

Earlier today, I ran out of something that I needed. So while I was out and about, I grabbed a pack of Gillette Sensor 2 disposables which was less than $5 U.S. Dollars and since I was extremely low, I also grabbed another bottle of Pinaud's Clubman original formula which was also less than $5 U.S. Dollars. These disposables will be next:

Even though I got a comfortable shave with my 38C, I could have made 4 passes easy and that's way too much for my skin to handle. I have thought about getting a Muhle R41 DE safety razor and just doing 2 with the grain passes but I don't know if that would be a good idea or not. I'll look into it after I finish my Retro Gaming build project.

TTFFC Mixed & The 38C:

Today's shave was good & comfortable. Today I went with my Through The Fire Fine Craft by Maria Arman which I desperately need to restock immediately because I'm nearly out. This is my mixed soap container and the scent that sticks out would be her "Play it Again Sam" which is a lime & ginger ale scent. And to finish off this shave, I paired it with good old Clubman:

The 38C was great & super comfortable but I didn't get a close enough shave to amount to anything. The good news is that I had minimal irritation which came mostly from yesterday's shave so that's a good thing. There may be some hope of me using DE safety razors after all. What I did differently this time around was that I did 2 passes with the grain only. I've got more cartridge razors to review but I do plan on trying this with my other DE safety razors & maybe my straight razors to see what happens. I have a feeling that my best bet will be the cartridge & disposable razors.

I'm In A Good Place:

First, let me take a moment to say thank you for all the prayers and well wishes during this difficult time. I also want to take a moment to...
